ABOUT THE AUTHOR

David M. Novick, MD, FACP, FAASLD, FASAM has had extensive clinical and academic experience in gastroenterology and addiction medicine. Until his retirement, he was board certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Addiction Medicine.

Dr. Novick practiced gastroenterology with Digestive Specialists in Dayton, Ohio for 30 years. He has more than 75 medical publications and has special interests in hepatology and addiction medicine. 

Dr. Novick’s first book, A Gastroenterologist’s Guide to Gut Health: Everything You Need to Know About Colonoscopy, Digestive Diseases, and Healthy Eating, was published by Rowman & Littlefield in April 2017. It received Honorable Mention from the American College of Gastroenterology SCOPY awards in 2017. Dr. Novick’s essay, “Rose, the Tarantula,” received an honorable mention in the 2014 Erma Bombeck Writing Competition. He is also published in Hippocampus Magazine, the Fix.com blog, and Ohio Lawyer. Dr. Novick was represented for this book by Veronica Park of the Corvisiero Literary Agency, New York, NY.
